Tata has taken the wraps off a new special edition of the Hexa. The Tata Hexa Safari Edition pays tribute to the Tata Safari line of SUVs. Although the Safari is now discontinued, this special edition aims to carry forward the name.

The Safari Edition of the Tata Hexa gets a new olive/army green paint scheme, black cladding, alloy wheels, white upholstery and the Safari badging. The updates are purely cosmetic, but add up quite nicely to the rugged outlook of the vehicle. The Hexa comes with a Varicor 400 BS6-compliant diesel engine putting out 154 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The car can be had with a manual or automatic transmission as well as in 4 wheel drive.

Since the introduction of the Harrier, the Hexa is becoming more of a niche product. This is mostly why Tata has decided to pull the plug on lower variants running the Varicor 320 tune with a 5-speed manual. The car is now only available with a Varicor 400 engine.
