Tata Hexa Serves Bangladesh Army, 200 Units On Duty

Tata Motors bags order of 200 Hexa units from our neighbour.

We are aware about the Tata Safari Storme GS 800. It is the Indian Army spec Safari that went under years of vigorous testing. It got some drastic changes over the regular civilian version.

Now Tata Motors has bagged yet another order. This time around for Bangladesh. They country has ordered 200 units of the Tata Hexa for their Army and it’s already serving the nation.

The made-in-India Tata Hexa was under testing for months before Bangladesh Army approved of the car. Tata Motors won this order against many other SUV makers. The Hexa was chosen by the Army for its comfort, performance and widely available spare parts and service.

The Bangladesh-spec version is finished in a gloss green colour shade. It is a 4×4 model with 2.2-litre Varicor 400 diesel engine producing 156 PS and 400 Nm torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Motors currently has discontinued the Hexa in the Indian market. The engine hasn’t been updated to BS6 yet. However, the carmaker showcased the Hexa Safari edition with BS6 engine at the Auto Expo 2020.

The Tata Hexa Safari edition is expected to launch later this year in India with a BS6 compliant 2.2-litre diesel motor.
