After 13 long days, 1200 car production affected and Rs. 420 crore loss, the strike at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar facility has finally come to an end. The 11 sacked workers were taken back but the primary reason for the strike has not been addressed. The affected cars were the A-Star, Swift and SX4 with majority of them being diesel variants. The company’s Gurgaon plant was not affected by the strike and production was as Swift as before over there. However with the workers requirements of a new union not accepted, can this be a temporary resolution to the strike? We hope not and wish production remains uninterrupted for times to come.
