Volkswagen To Launch New Beetle In September

Volkswagen India plans to launch the new Beetle in September this year. The car is being launched more for a brand building exercise than anything else. The car is expected to cost around Rs. 20 lakhs. The hefty price tag is due to the 110% import duty as the car is being bought in as a CBU. The new Beetle will be powered by a 1.9L TDi diesel engine, mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. Its will fully loaded with a host of features including rain sensors, cruise control, acoustic rear parking sensors (to fit into small parking spaces), ABS, traction control, anti-skid system and standard front and side airbags.
