TVS Orbiter To Launch On August 28, 2025, Will Be Positioned Below The TVS iQube

TVS Motor has announced the launch of a new electric scooter in India on August 28, 2025. The scooter is expected to be called the TVS Orbiter, based on a trademark filed earlier by the company. The teaser that shows the letter ‘O’ further supports this speculation.

Styling

Design details are limited, but the anticipation is of a minimalistic and modern appearance. It may include a hub-mounted motor and a relatively smaller battery pack. To maintain affordability, TVS may keep the feature list lower compared to the iQube.

Expected Pricing

TVS will likely position the upcoming model as its most affordable electric scooter, below the iQube in its lineup. Currently, the iQube is priced between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom). This new scooter shall target a wider audience as it would be more affordable.

Market Positioning

The new scooter will compete with models like Ola S1X, Vida VX2, and lower variants of the Bajaj Chetak. These models dominate the affordable electric two-wheeler market in India. TVS aims to capture this competitive segment with its latest offering.

Battery Options

Currently, TVS equips the iQube with battery packs of 2.2 kWh, 3.1 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 5.3 kWh. The largest battery gives an IDC range of 212 km per charge, while the smallest gives 94 km. The iQube’s popularity benefits from premium features such as a touchscreen dashboard and connectivity options.

Expected Features

The new model might inherit some basic features from the iQube to enhance its appeal. However, advanced features could be excluded to maintain cost-effectiveness.
