Toyota Hilux Bookings Commence Unofficially In India
Dealers are asking a booking amount of Rs. 2 lakhs for the Toyota Hilux
Toyota dealers are said to have begun taking orders for the Hilux and the booking amount for the pickup truck is said to be Rs. 2 lakhs.
Expected to be introduced in the market next month, the pickup truck was spotted recently in Gurugram, where it was used to shoot a TV commercial.
Built on the same IMV-2 platform as the Toyota Innova Crysta and Fortuner, the Hilux will be initially offered in double cab version here.
The model that was spotted recently had tonnes of chrome on the outside, while inside, the pickup truck should be equipped with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, smartphone connectivity feature, auto air-conditioning, among other features.
Likely to be offered with 2 turbodiesel engine options – a 150 PS, 2.4-litre unit and 204 PS, 2.8-litre motor – the lifestyle vehicle should come with a choice of a 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions and 4-wheel drive.
With the Toyota Hilux booking amount out of the box, the Japanese car manufacturer should soon formally announce the commencement of bookings for the vehicle.
