Toyota Fortuner prices revised, up to Rs. 50,000/- more expensive

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a price revision for its popular SUV, the Toyota Fortuner, with immediate effect. The updated pricing structure sees a hike across all variants, with the revised prices now starting at Rs. 33.78 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Price Changes Across Variants

The price hike varies depending on the variant, with the GR-S variant experiencing the highest increase of Rs. 50,000/-. Other variants in the Standard range have observed consistent increases:

  • 2.8 Diesel MT 4×2: Rs. 40,000/-
  • 2.8 Diesel AT 4×2: Rs. 40,000/-
  • 2.8 Diesel MT 4×4: Rs. 40,000/-
  • 2.8 Diesel AT 4×4: Rs. 40,000/-

In the Petrol range, the 2.7 Petrol MT 4×2 and 2.7 Petrol AT 4×2 variants now cost Rs. 35,000/- more.

Meanwhile, the premium Legender range also sees significant changes, with both the 2.8 Diesel 4×2 AT and 2.8 Diesel 4×4 AT variants priced Rs. 45,000/- higher.

Engine and Transmission Options

The Toyota Fortuner offers two engine options: a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.8-litre diesel engine, catering to a wide range of buyers. Transmission options include:

  • A five-speed manual for the petrol variant
  • A six-speed manual for the diesel variant
  • A six-speed torque converter automatic for both engines

Revised Pricing Bracket

Following the price revision, the Toyota Fortuner is now priced between Rs. 33.78 lakhs and Rs. 48.09 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom). The SUV remains a sought-after choice for buyers seeking a robust, three-row SUV with off-road capabilities.

Industry Perspective

While the price increase may impact buyers on a budget, it aligns with industry trends where manufacturers adjust pricing due to rising input costs and currency fluctuations. The Toyota Fortuner continues to maintain its stronghold in the full-size SUV segment, thanks to its reliability, powerful performance and wide range of configurations.

With this update, Toyota aims to balance its product value with market dynamics, ensuring the Fortuner stays competitive while meeting customer expectations.
