Toyota Etios Cross Launched In India, Prices Start At Rs. 5.76 Lakhs
Toyota has officially launched the Etios Cross in India today. Based on the Etios Liva hatchback, the Etios Cross gets rugged styling, raised ground clearance and the option of two petrol and one diesel engine with four variants on offer. Toyota had first showcased the Etios Cross at the 2014 Auto Expo in February this year ,that joins the Etios family comprising of a sedan, hatchback and now a pseudo crossover model.
The Toyota Etios Cross manages to look distinctively different with the chunky black plastic cladding running across the bumper and the belt line for the rugged appeal. The front and rear scuff plates are finished in brushed silver which extends on the lower portion of the side cladding as well. The Etios Cross features a very prominent trapezoidal grille with vertical slats, that gives the pseudo crossover a completely new look. The grille frame has been finished in brushed silver as well and gives a mildly aggressive appearance to the hatchback. The Etios Cross also gets 15-inch diamond finish alloy wheels.
The Toyota Etios Cross gets roof rails that can hold up to 50 kgs of luggage. The cabin on the other hand is essentially the same as the Etios Liva and comes loaded with piano black finish, sporty seat fabric with white stitching and Etios Cross badging, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB, AUX- and remote; and leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. You also get ORVM integrated turn indicators, driver seat height adjust, rear defogger, tachometer with digital clock as part of standard kit.
Engines powering the Etios Cross include the 1.5-litre petrol motor that produces 90 PS at 5600 RPM, while the 1.2-litre petrol mill makes 80 PS at 5600 RPM. The 1.4-litre diesel powerplant on the other hand belts out 68 PS at 3800 RPM. Safety equipment comprises of dual front airbags, ABS and EBD offered as standard.
