Mercifully, 150cc bike sales in May 2021 was better than the same period the year before
Leading the 150cc bike sales in May 2021 was the Apache series of motorcycles from TVS which collectively sold close to 20,000 units.
Up next is the Pulsar 150 from Bajaj that registered sales of 8638 units in May, followed by the Yamaha FZ (3008 units) in a distant third.
Two more 150cc motorcycles from Yamaha, the R15 and MT-15 come next, occupying the fourth and fifth positions in the May 2021 150cc bike sales chart with 2132 units and 1344 unit sales, respectively.
Honda’s Unicorn managed to find 1320 takers this past month, while the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 was ridden home by 556 individuals.
Eighth-placed Hero Xtreme registered sales of 187 units, while the sales recorded by the Suzuki Gixxer and Honda Hornet 2.0 were appalling to say the least.
Motorcycles like the MT-15 (440 percent), Apache range (391 percent) and R15 (138 percent) all managed to post year-over-year (YoY) sales growth, while others like the FZ (-15 percent), Unicorn (-61 percent), did not do well.
In all, the bikes in the list managed to register sales of 37,136 units, (in May 2020 these motorcycles collectively sold 21,403 units), which is a healthy 73 percent increase in sales.
