Tata Punch Global NCAP Safety Rating Leaked
The Tata Punch seems to have scored 5 stars in the safety tests
Tata Motor’s newest offering, the Punch, has scored 5 stars in Global NCAP safety tests. However, the automaker does not want people to know that just yet.
Having briefly put the Punch’s Global NCAP safety rating on the car’s online booking page, Tata removed the information almost immediately, but not before screenshots, which were subsequently shared online, were taken.
Unveiled recently, the asking price of the small crossover will be announced by next week. While announcing the prices, Tata is expected to reveal the car’s safety rating officially.
The brand had already done the same with regard to the 2022 Tigor EV, where, it announced the price list of the electric compact sedan and its Global NCAP safety rating at one go.
Once the price list of the Punch is officially disclosed, Global NCAP’s website should provide full details about the small crossover’s crash test performance.
With a 5-star safety rating, the Tata Punch follows in the footsteps of the Altroz (whose ALFA platform the Punch uses) and the Nexon, which also aced the crash tests.
Tata Punch safety features that are offered as standard include dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, Corner Safety Control (CSC), Brake Sway Control (BSC), ISOFIX anchor points and seat belt reminders for front occupants. It has disc brakes up front and drum jobbies at the rear.
Powering the car is a 1199cc, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor that is good for 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. The engine can be teamed to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
