The Tata Nano will go on sale in Sri Lanka in June, 2011. Tata Motors will start exporting the world’s cheapest car to our neighbors down south with the first lot of 500 units next month. The company expects to sell around 200 Nanos every month through its dealer there. Currently Tata Motors sells only trucks in the island nation. The Sri Lankan Nano will be equipped with inertia reel belts in the rear. This would help the car meet Sri Lankan regulations. There is no news on the price of the Nano in Sri Lanka but we expect it not to differ much compared to what it sells in India. Do you think Tata Motors should sell Nano in Sri Lanka? Or it should first satisfy demand in our country?
