The Tata Nano is the cheapest car in India by a long shot but it surely is not able to maintain the economic principle of demand and supply. Last month the Nano saw a massive decline in sales to just 509 units, which is a sixth of October sales of 3065 units. Rumours are rife about the production of the Nano at Sanand coming to a standstill and dealers inventories piling up. The small wonder from Tata Motors has surely not lived up to its expectations thanks to negative publicity (fire) and a unofficial recall last month.
