Tata Motors Enters Used Car Business

After leading car maker Maruti, Tata Motors has started its pre-owned car business in major cities and plans to take it across the country in a phased manner. The certified pre-owned programme has been started on a pilot basis with 15 dealers in 10 cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Vapi, the company said in a statament.

The programme caters to customers willing to exchange their existing cars for new Tata cars. “Besides, it also offers certified pre-owned Tata cars which will come with one year/ 20,000 km extended warranty and three free services,” S Krishnan of Tata Motors said.

The Tata Motors Assured certified pre-owned cars will be less than five years old, non accidental and with not more than two owners, the company said. Three free services will also be offered to customers as a part of the certification package. The extended warranty and free service facility will be available to the customers across India.
