Suzuki Working On Developing Rear-View Camera System For Motorcycles

Suzuki working on new camera system for added convenience for riders

It is quite the challenge as a rider to tackle the blind spots. Having mirrors does help, but doesn’t prevent you from looking to your side while changing lanes. To tackle this problem Suzuki is reportedly developing on a rear mounted camera for motorcycles.

In collaboration with Tokai Rika, the camera will be mounted on the rear as mentioned before. Equipped with a wide angle view which would be displayed on a TFT screen crammed just beside the instrument cluster. The TFT will display the rear camera’s feed to make the driver more aware of their surroundings. Suzuki is aware of the fact that the view won’t be accurate, similar to the mirrors and are working on developing a software that will zoom in to the video to provide an accurate view!

A rear view dashcam for motorcycles isn’t a new thing, as you get plenty of them on E-commerce websites. But this is the first time a manufacturer took a jab at making this. However, there is no fixed date as to when this will come in production.
