Suzuki GSX-150R (Full Faired Gixxer) Rendered
The full-faired Suzuki Gixxer is bound to sell in huge numbers considering it gets the potent mechanicals of the street-fighter bike. Suzuki will launch the motorcycle by mid-2015.
Suzuki is on a roll, it has been winning almost every bike of the year award this year for its Gixxer. The company sold an impressive 5168 units of its premium 150cc motorcycle in December 2014 which is more than most of its rivals, except the Yamaha FZ that manages close to 20,000 units every month. Suzuki is planning a slew of launches this year and one among them is the full-faired Gixxer, likely to be called the GSX-150R. While Suzuki should bring in an R15 rival, the full-faired Gixxer looks more like an alternative to the half-faired Fazer.
Our rendering of the Suzuki GSX-150R shows the bike to have all the mechanicals of the Gixxer with the side and rear being almost identical too. The big difference is the full fairing on the side and the front which is inspired from the company’s popular Hayabusa. The rearview mirrors are mounted on the fairing and not on the handlebar which is a norm for full-faired bikes. The artist impression made by us takes into account the spy shot of the bike which MotorBeam is the first and only publication to share.
Expected to cost at least Rs. 10,000/- more than the Gixxer, the GSX-150R will continue to get a single-piece seat, superbike inspired exhaust and a 155cc single-cylinder mill which belts out class-leading output. The company could tweak the motor for added performance while a rear disc brake and clip-on bars could be added too. Considering the demand for full-faired bikes in India, the Suzuki GSX-150R is bound to be a success, it will also be the cheapest bike of this body style in the country.
