Skoda Kushaq Style NSR (Non Sunroof) Launched At Rs. 15.09 Lakhs
Skoda Kushaq Style NSR cheaper than regular Style variant by Rs. 20,000/-, loses some key features as well
Skoda has silently launched a new Style NSR variant for its midsize SUV, Kushaq. Though it’s based on the 1-litre Style manual variant and sits among the top-end variants, it has lost some key features while also commanding a lesser price tag than the former.
Priced at Rs. 15.09 lakhs (ex-showroom), it’s cheaper than the regular Style 1.0 TSI MT by Rs. 20,000/-. The ‘NSR’ in its title stands for ‘Non Sunroof’, and it, rightly, lacks a sunroof. Further, the SUV also lacks crucial features: rain-sensing wipers and auto-dimming IRVM.
The car misses out on the 8-inch fully-digital driver display and comes with a 15-inch spare wheel instead of a 16-inch unit.
It’s positioned above the Ambition 1.0 MT that’s priced at Rs. 12.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The ongoing semiconductor shortage continues to haunt the Czech maker big time. Earlier this year, Skoda silently removed the auto-fold feature of the ORVMs of the Kushaq Ambition and Style variants citing global chip shortage.
Owners were charged close to Rs. 20,000/- extra by dealerships for retrofitting them unofficially.
Later, Skoda offered a discount of Rs. 15,000/- to make up for the feature deletion. As on date, the company is retrofitting the auto-fold ORVMs at dealerships for all those who need them.
Skoda Kushaq is 1 of the interesting propositions in the C and D segment SUV space as it features powerful TSI motors offering maximum fun behind the wheels.
It currently competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier to name a few.
