Royal Enfield Himalayan electric under consideration for 2026 launch
Royal Enfield Himalayan electric expected to make its world debut by 2026. The Indian bike maker is preparing to launch a wide range of electric bikes in the near future.
RE will take a top-down approach to launch electric two-wheelers in India. Initially they will launch expensive electric bikes and Himalayan EV will be one of them. These electric bikes will help the brand showcase their new technology and design.
Since it will be an ADV EV, it will have a big battery with long range on offer. Currently the bike is in its initial development stage. The final product will resemble the Himalayan but will get some futuristic design elements to distinguish the two.
It will come with LED headlight, large body panels and battery cover with charging indicator. RE is expected to introduce new tech to the bike with improved instrument cluster design and smartphone connectivity.
The RE Himalayan EV concept is likely to be showcased around 2025 while the final production version will be launched after a couple of years.
The bike maker is also planning to launch electric cruiser bikes and scramblers in the future.
