The Reva Electric Car Company is in the midst of building the world’s largest electric car manufacturing plant in India. With a manufacturing capacity of 30,000 units per annum, the company has so far spent Rs. 30 crores or $6.1 million. The production for the company, which is based in Bangalore, is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2010-11. With environmentalists coming into the picture the demand for electric cars has seen a significant surge.

Reva intends to make cars which are not only fuel efficient but even eco-friendly. There are options for features like rain water harvesting, natural light ventilation, solar energy harvesting, steel structure technology as well as a CO2 monitor. The facility will even have a games room for the staff, a canteen along with electric buses for commuting to and fro work. The company also has concrete plans to landscape the area and improve the greenery all around.
