Renault K-ZE Revealed At 2020 Auto Expo

The K-ZE is built on the same CMF-A platform as the Kwid.
After much wait, the Renault K-ZE has been unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new EV is based on the Renault Kwid hatchback, which uses the CMF-A platform.
The Renault K-ZE is powered by a 26.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which powers an electric motor that can produce a peak output of 44hp and 125Nm of torque, the same as what is offered in the China-spec City K-ZE. The electric hatchback claims a range of 271 kms on a full charge. According to Renault, the battery can be charged up in 4 hours via an AC charger or can juice up 30-80% in just 30 mins through a DC fast charger.
Visually, the K-ZE and the standard Kwid is quite similar and even carry over several elements from the concept version. The grille has been tweaked and sports the large diamond logo upfront, while the headlamps are sleek and sharper and get the LED treatment. Having said that, the grille differs from its petrol-powered sibling, as it has a closed and more aerodynamic design.
The K-ZE features an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, part-digital instrument cluster, dual-front airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a rear parking camera. The gear selector knob on the centre console is also the same as the unit available on the Kwid AMT.
