Pulsar CS 400 Is Next Bajaj Launch, Expected By May 2016

Bajaj Auto is gearing up for its next big launch, the Pulsar CS 400. The KTM Duke 390’s tamer cousin is expected to be launched by May 2016.

Bajaj has always got the pulse of the Indian motorcycle market right. Be it the launch of the Pulsar brand or the Avenger, it satisfied the needs of Indian bikers. With it taking a considerable equity stake in KTM a few years ago, the hopes of customers rose too. Having launched good products in the form of Pulsar RS 200 and Pulsar AS 200, enthusiast have been eagerly waiting for the bigger engined motorcycles.

The first one of the bigger engined Pulsar isn’t too far away now. After the launch of the V15, Bajaj is gearing up to launch the Pulsar CS 400 which is essentially the KTM Duke 390’s tamer cousin. Built as a sport cruiser, the motorcycle boasts of show stopping looks and a powerful engine to match the looks. It draws inspiration from much bigger power cruisers too.

Powering the Pulsar CS 400 is a 373.2cc liquid-cooled 4-valve single-cylinder engine which is likely to pump out around 40 BHP of power and 32 Nm of torque. The figures are slightly lower than the KTM Duke 390 which is due to the difference in tuning and use of inferior components. The slightly lower numbers will help reduce the heating problem too which the orange machine is infamous for.

The Pulsar CS 400 won’t be alone for a long time since Bajaj also intends to launch the RS 400 later this year to cater to the fairing crazy Indian audience. Both the bikes will share a lot of equipment with their Austrian cousins and one major component we hope they share is the ABS module. Good looks, good power and a price tag lower than the KTM’s will ensure the Bajaj twins sell in higher numbers.
