Nissan Sunny Facelift Launched In Thailand, Coming To Auto Expo
The Sunny has been Nissan India’s best performer until now. This mid-size sedan has been gaining a lot of sales because of the tremendous amount of space and comfort that it offers along with a decent amount of equipment. The Sunny was launched in 2011 and has been consistently selling approximately 500-odd units every month. To keep up with competition, it was expected from Nissan to give the vehicle a facelift to increase appeal and to keep the product updated. The Nissan Sunny facelift has now arrived in Thailand and the automaker will showcase it at the 2014 Auto Expo.
On the exteriors, the Nissan Sunny facelift gets new bumpers, new front grille, redesigned headlights, updated fog lamp housing, new rear bumper and finally alloy wheels in a new design. The shape of the tail lights is the same and Nissan has also added a rear spoiler which was already available as an accessory with the existing Sunny. The bottom portion of the rear bumper has also been blackened out to make it look sportier and to hide some bulk. These changes to the exteriors of the Sunny make it look much better than the current design which many buyers found a bit boring.
Moving to the interiors, Nissan has given the central console a slight rejig by adding a piano-black panel as well as black seat covers. The dashboard is also in a shade of black colour compared to the earlier greige (grey + beige). The updated Sunny gets a new steering wheel too. The multi-information display gets white lighting now. Nissan won’t make any mechanical changes to the vehicle and it will continue to be sold with the existing 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Right now, the Nissan Sunny is priced between Rs. 6.30 – 9.87 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
