New Swift Dzire Under 4 Metres

The next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire which will be based on the all new Suzuki Swift platform will be going under the knife. The car is said to have a length of less than 4 meters, allowing the new Swift Dzire to qualify as a small car and attract only 10% excise duty instead of 22% which the current Dzire attracts being 4160mm long. The new Dzire will be designed and developed by Maruti completely in India as it will only be sold here. Engine options will be the same as the current ones and possibility of a 90bhp version of the 1.3L Multijet is highly likely. The new Dzire is expected to cost Rs. 20,000/- less than the current model and will be launched in Diwali this year.
