The Hector facelift gets tweaks to the grille and fog lamp section

MG Hector’s 7-seater variant has been spied testing and might be available in India next year. The test mule reveals a smaller grille when compared to the current model on sale. It gets a new projector headlamp assembly, new LED DRLs and twin fog lamps in a blackened out housing.

Badged as the Wuling Almaz, the 7-seater MG Hector has been revealed at the GIIAS 2019 in Indonesia where it is priced around Rs. 12.99 lakhs to Rs. 16.99 lakhs. Except for the addition of new alloy wheels, the SUV has not received many changes to the side profile. At the rear, it gets a new garnish strip, fog lamps, reflectors while the tailgate, tail lamp design and bumper remain the same.

The facelifted MG Hector scales to 4695 mm in length instead of 4655 mm while the width and height at 1835 mm and 1750 mm remain unchanged. Meanwhile, this new model is positioned 10 mm lower than the currently available version. It takes design cues from the Baojun RS-5 as well.

Under the hood, the 7-seat MG Hector is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine producing 146.84 PS while being mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and CVT.

In India, the Baojun 530, is rebadged and reengineered to be sold as the MG Hector. The SUV is available with a starting price of Rs. 12.18 lakhs. According to the company, bookings have been closed for the car as it is sold out for the year 2019, in just 22 days of launch.
