Mercedes Benz is taking BMW head on as both manufacturers are going full out to dominate the Indian roads. Mercedes Benz has edged out BMW in the first half of 2010 primarily due to its aggressive marketing strategies and series of new launches we have seen this year. Mercedes has sold 2449 units till June 2010 as compared to 2183 sold by BMW for the same time. A sudden surge in sales have been associated with the C 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY, which has been well received by customers.

“Our customers appreciate the Passion, Excitement and Fascination that are associated with Mercedes-Benz as a brand and our cars. Exciting products, world-class ownership experience and engaging customer programs have been our key levers; we have more excitement for our customers and enthusiasts in the second half of 2010.” – Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India

Mercedes has seen a 79 percent increase in sales as compared to last year for same period (Jan – June)
