Maruti Will Not Pass On Swift Excise Benefits

In another case of greed not subsiding even after earning huge profits, Maruti Suzuki will not be passing the benefits of 12% lower excise on the Swift Petrol to customers. The smaller K-Series engine in the Maruti Swift qualifies for excise benefits resulting in the company saving close to Rs. 40,000/- per car. However the country’s largest car manufacturer blames increasing costs for this decision. But the truth being Maruti is scared of the onslaught of new small cars resulting in the strategy of make hay while sun shines!
