Maruti Wagon R BS6 S-CNG Launched, Priced From Rs. 5.25 Lakhs

Maruti has launched the BS6 S-CNG version of the popular tallboy hatchback Wagon R at a starting price of Rs. 5.25 lakhs.

Maruti has been introducing CNG variants of many of their cars and now the automaker has launched the Wagon R S-CNG BS6 in India. The Wagon R CNG is available in the LXi and LXi (O) variants which means that the CNG kit is offered only with the 1.0-litre petrol engine.

The 998cc, 3-cyl, K10B engine churns out 58 HP and 78 Nm in CNG guise which is a little less compared to when it runs on petrol. The CNG tank has a water capacity of 60-litres and a claimed efficiency of 32.52 km/kg on CNG. Of course, with the CNG tank installed, the boot space becomes almost nil.

Maruti also offers the Wagon R with the more powerful 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine which is available in higher variants and hence doesn’t get the factory-fitted CNG option as of now. Apart from the addition of the BS6 S-CNG kit to the Wagon R, no other changes have been made.
