Maruti To Supply A-Star To VW

Maruti Suzuki will supply the A-Star to Volkswagen as the companies plan to explore synergies in the near future. The A-Star will undergo cosmetic modifications to make it look like a VW designed vehicle. The German automaker holds 19.9% stake in Suzuki, which has helped progress this deal. Maruti’s engineering team will work with Volkswagen India to alter the A-Star as per the German companies needs. The overall technical specifications of the A-Star will be unaltered. Maruti also supplies the A-Star to Nissan, which it sells as the Pixo in Europe. The Volkswagen A-Star will be sold in Asian countries.
