Maruti Suzuki To Roll Out CNG Cars

Maruti Suzuki has the maximum market share with half of all cars on the road rolling out from the Maruti factory. To ensure it stays that way and keeping the environment in mind, Maruti Suzuki will soon be launching CNG variants of its bestsellers such as the Wagon R, Alto and SX4 (cant really call it a bestseller).

These factory fitted CNG variants will be dearer by 15 – 20% and Maruti will be using its very own I-GPI (intelligent gas port injection) technology that will give the option of driving with either petrol or CNG as fuel without losing any power as it injects gas directly into the engine, unlike post market gas kits. Running cars on alternate eco friendly fuel is a positive step from Maruti but in the current scenario, we don’t have too many CNG filling stations and those which are there are always queued up with rickshaws and taxis. Hopefully the situation will improve with time.
