Maruti has instigated a new scheme called ‘Project Safety Kawach’ (PSK), to train its dealer sales staff on road safety in order to prevent road users from being killed or getting seriously injured. Sales staff across the country will be up-skilled with a short road safety module by Maruti Driving School.

Travelling on the roads of India is getting more and more dangerous. According to figures released by the government, more than 1,40,000 people were killed on India’s roads last year. Few people in India drive senselessly without any regards for road safety. With PKS, Maruti is set to guide road safety and traffic awareness among its dealer sales executives (DSEs) who are with customers on test drives.

The time has now come for them to be exceptional on safety measures which include using rear seatbelts. Long-established DSEs and Maruti Driving School are two separate entities, but now they are in unison to play an active role. Many people from DSEs have been instructed so far and they are now qualified to put forth the hurdles of roads to customers.

With this initiative, Maruti Suzuki is hoping for the bigger market in the sub-continent as they have an ample number of driving schools across the country. Last year, many people signed up for training programmes. Content related to this particular programme will be spread through various mediums.
