Maruti Suzuki has resumed selling its old version Wagon R Duo (LPG). Maruti had launched the all new Wagon R in April but has been unable to come out with the LPG version as yet. Considering that Maruti has lost out on its 50 percent market share in recent times, relaunching the old version Wagon R Duo was more of a desperate measure to combat the declining sales.

“We are now selling the ‘Duo’ and it will continue till the LPG variant of the new WagonR is ready. The work on new LPG is going on” – Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India Limited.

Maruti also confirmed that the LPG variant of the new Wagon R is unlikely to come out this year. The new Wagon R is pitted against Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo and Hyundai i10. Maruti is, however, launching CNG variants in 5 of their models namely Wagon R (new), Alto, Estilo, Eeco and SX4 in the second week of this month.
