India’s largest automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has hiked prices across all segments justifying increasing input costs. The increase is in a range of Rs 2000 to Rs 7500, depending upon the model. The only model to be unaffected by this is Maruti’s bestseller car, the Maruti Alto. The new pricing will be applicable with immediate effect.

“Due to a sharp increase in the input costs, Maruti Suzuki India has decided to pass on a part of this cost impact to customers. The approximate price revision on various models (Ex Showroom, Delhi) ranges between Rs 2,000 and Rs 7,500. The price increase ranges between 1 per cent and 1.5 per cent” – Maruti Suzuki Spokesperson

This hikes comes at a time when Maruti has registered a 33% increase in sales as compared to the same time last year.
