Mahindra Scorpio 1.99-Litre Intelli-Hybrid Launched

Mahindra Scorpio 1.99-Litre Intelli-Hybrid launched at a starting price of Rs. 9.35 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the S4 trim.

Mahindra had earlier launched the Scorpio with a 1.99-litre diesel engine for the Delhi and NCR markets. Now, the automaker has launched an Intelli-Hybrid version that is available with the same downsized engine. This model will also be available only in Delhi and NCR.

The Mahindra Scorpio now becomes the first Indian SUV to get a mild hyrbid technology and it is said to reduce fuel consumption by 7%. The SUV will also get a concessional VAT of only 5% now, which will result in savings of Rs. 60,000-90,000/- depending on the variant chosen.

The Intelli-Hybrid technology supplies electric power to the engine during acceleration and it switches of the engine after 3 seconds of idling. It also uses brake energy to charge the battery. There are no other tweaks to the 1.99-litre mHawk engine. The Mahindra Scorpio Intelli-Hybrid is available in the following trims – mHAWK engine: S4, S4+, S4+ 4wd, S6+, S8, S10-2WD (Manual Transmission) and S10-4WD (Manual Transmission) with a starting price of Rs. 9.35 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
