Mahindra KUV100 Spotted At Dealership Ahead Of Launch [Video]

The Mahindra KUV100 was spotted at a dealership ahead of the official launch scheduled on 15th January and will be rivalling a host of mid-size hatchbacks in the segment.

The Mahindra KUV100 has created the right buzz in the automotive industry with spy shots and videos coming in. A similar video featuring the KUV100 has emerged online revealing the model completely including its interiors. The compact SUV has been revealed from all possible angles along with the rear of the car, which perfectly compliments the overall SUV stance of the KUV100. This video has created a perfect atmosphere for Mahindra ahead of the launch scheduled on 15th January.

The Mahindra KUV100’s rear and interiors are the most interesting shots in the video. The rear is a simple yet beautifully designed part. Chrome bits can be seen around the tail lamps and other places which indicate that the variant spotted is the top-end K8 trim. The front seats are another factor in the SUV that attract attention, which look well designed with a seating capacity for three. The passenger seat gets an armrest which can be pulled up to accommodate one extra person. The gear knob is placed on the dashboard to provide legroom for the third person.

The video was taken at a dealership with a number of units in the background which indicates that Mahindra has already started dispatching the KUV100. Looking at the actual dimensions of the compact SUV, it is expected to give a tough fight to competitors like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 in the segment. For those who are not in the know, the KUV100 is the first SUV from Mahindra to be powered by a petrol engine. Both petrol and diesel engines belong to the all-new mFalcon family and are used for the first time.

The Mahindra KUV100 will be powered by 1.2-litre three-cylinder mFalcon engines. The petrol variant will produce 82 BHP at 5500 RPM and 115 Nm of torque between 3500-3600 RPM while the diesel variant will produce 77 BHP at 3750 RPM and a peak torque of 190 Nm between 1750-2250 RPM. The engines will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox sending power to the front wheels. An AMT option can be expected sometime later this year.
