Limited Edition Ford EcoSport Launched In Europe
Ford has introduced the EcoSport compact SUV in the European market starting with limited edition models. The limited edition Ford EcoSport can be ordered online via facebook. This strategy comes in a way to make a big impact on young buyers. The American carmaker has prepared only 500 examples of the limited edition Ford EcoSport, out of which 120 will head to the UK and 110 to Germany. The special edition comes with cosmetic changes as well as additional gadgetry. It won’t be offered in India although the compact SUV is exported from here.
The Ford EcoSport limited edition comes equipped with Ford Sync AppLink system that enables voice control of smartphone apps. The company is offering free apps from Ford’s Sync AppLink partners. Other elements include 17-inch alloy wheels and leather interior trim. The limited edition variant is only available in Mars Red, Panther Black and Diamond White colour options with a starting price of £16,995 (Rs. 17.82 lakhs) in the UK and €19,950 (Rs. 17.67 lakhs) in Germany.
In the European market, the Ford EcoSport is available in two engine options – 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The 3-cylinder 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol motor churns out 123 BHP of power with 170 Nm of torque. The 4-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel produces 90 BHP of power with 204 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. However in India we get an additional 1.5-litre petrol engine option that churns out 108 BHP of power with 140 Nm of torque, also available with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
