2024 Hyundai i20 N Line

Hyundai Motor India has updated the lineup of the Hyundai i20 N Line by discontinuing select variants, resulting in a more streamlined range. The move impacts gearbox availability and certain cosmetic options within the lineup.

As part of the revision, the N6 variant paired with the dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) has been removed. This change means the DCT option is now restricted to the top-spec N8 trim. The N6 variant continues to be available, but only with a manual gearbox and without the dual-tone exterior colour choices that were previously offered.

The N8 variant remains unchanged in terms of transmission options, continuing to offer both a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DCT. It also retains dual-tone paint schemes, keeping it positioned as the more premium offering within the range.

Mechanically, there are no updates to the hatchback. It continues to be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, maintaining its positioning as a performance-oriented version of the standard i20. The N Line differentiates itself through sportier styling elements such as a roof spoiler, red brake callipers, dual exhaust outlets and an all-black interior with N Line-specific detailing.

The i20 N Line was first introduced in India in September 2021, initially offering iMT and automatic gearbox options. A subsequent update in October 2023 saw the iMT replaced by a conventional manual transmission, alongside cosmetic and feature enhancements.

Pricing for the i20 N Line remains unchanged despite the variant reshuffle, currently ranging between Rs. 9.22 lakhs and Rs. 11.67 lakhs (ex-showroom). In the market, it competes with turbo-petrol variants of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Another rival in the segment, the Tata Altroz Racer, was discontinued in 2025, narrowing direct competition.

The update appears to focus on simplifying the variant structure while retaining key performance and feature highlights of the model.
