Hyundai Plans Local Assembly For Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe is a fantastic SUV, proof is the high demand it currently has. Realizing the potential of top of the line Hyundai in India, the company has decided to locally assemble the Santa Fe from CKD units. The car is currently being homologated by ARAI in Pune and Hyundai has already started testing the vehicle at its Chennai facility before they commence production. The Santa Fe is the only SUV for sale by Hyundai in India and the company expects to sell 1400 units this year. The CKD operation will result in revision of prices downwards, which would drastically improve volumes for the Korean automaker.
