Honda CB1000 Hornet SP Launched In India, Features Bi-Directional Quickshifter As Standard
Honda has launched the CB1000 Hornet SP in India. It is priced at Rs. 12.35 Lakh (ex-showroom). The litre-class naked streetbike will compete with the Triumph Street Triple R and RS, as well as the Kawasaki Z900, which have been favourites in the space.
Styling
The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP exudes a menacing road presence to complement its sporty aesthetics. The headlights get an aggressive design, and the beefed-up fuel tank and upswept tail section add to the naked streetfighter image.
Engine
The CB1000 Hornet SP is powered by a 999cc inline 4-cylinder engine. It produces 157 HP at 11,000 RPM and 107 NM of torque at 9000 RPM. The engine pairs with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch.
Braking & Suspension
The CB1000 Hornet SP’s suspension consists of Showa SFF-BP upside-down forks and an Ohlins TTX36 monoshock at the rear. Twin 310mm discs with Brembo callipers manage braking at the front, and a 240mm single disc setup handles braking at the rear.
Features
Honda has given plenty of features to the CB1000 Hornet SP. These include three standard modes, i.e. Rain, Standard and Sport, and two configurable modes, i.e. two User modes. Riders can use these to alter the traction control and throttle response to suit their preferences.
In addition to this, the CB1000 Hornet SP gets a 5-inch colour TFT display, an LED projector headlamp, Bluetooth connectivity and a standard bi-directional quickshifter. Notably, the SP represents a higher-spec variant of the CB1000 Hornet offered in India, rather than the normal version, which reduces its accessibility to potential buyers.
