Honda CB1000 Hornet Design Leaked, Patented In India

Honda CB1000 Hornet is expected to launch in India later this year

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has recently secured a design patent for its CB1000 Hornet in the Indian market, signalling potential entry into the competitive 1000cc segment. The CB1000 Hornet, successor to the CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe, presents an aggressive design language characterised by sharp styling elements which somehow look similar to that of the Ducati Streetfighter.

Underneath its aggressive exterior, the CB1000 Hornet is powered by a 999cc inline-four-cylinder engine generating 147 BHP and 100 Nm of torque. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, this powerhouse is underpinned by a trellis frame, providing a solid foundation for dynamic riding experiences. Suspension duties are handled by Showa forks at the front and a Pro-Link shock at the rear, both offering adjustability for pre-load and rebound to suit varying riding preferences.

In terms of stopping power, the CB1000 Hornet features dual front and a rear single disc brakes mounted on 17-inch wheels. Enhancing rider control and convenience are a range of electronic aids including a throttle-by-wire system, a 5-inch TFT display and three selectable ride modes.

Apart from the CB1000 Hornet, Honda has also patented the CB500 Hornet, CBR500R and CBR650R in India. The CB500 Hornet is a naked roadster while the CBR500R is a fully-faired bike, which is powered by Honda’s 471cc parallel-twin engine platform.
