Hero Splendor BS6 Retains Honda Sourced Engine

Expect a price hike of Rs. 8000/- to Rs. 10,000/- for the BS6 model.

Hero Motocorp is gearing up to offer a BS6-version of its most popular motorcycle, Splendor Plus sometime next month. The motorcycle is powered by a 97.2 cc air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine with a carburetted fuel system, that generates 8.36 PS of power and 8.05 Nm torque. To make it BS6-compliant, the Splendor Plus will get the fuel-injection technology.

In terms of design, the BS6 Hero Splendor Plus will get new graphics all around the motorcycle’s body, along with the addition of a catalytic converter to reduce emissions. The bike’s instrument cluster gets no changes, apart from a malfunction indicator lamp. However, it does get a variety of new dual-tone paint schemes including red and black, sky blue and gray, silver and black as well as purple and black.

As of now, the BS4 Hero Splendor Plus is available at a starting price of Rs. 50,860/- ex-showroom. Expect a price hike of Rs. 8000/- to Rs. 10,000/- for the BS6 model that is expected to be offered in March.
