2012 Chevrolet Captiva Launch

The much awaited facelifted Chevrolet Captiva has been launched quietly today. General Motors calls it the next generation Captiva but has not discontinued the old 2-litre diesel engine in the Captiva, which will be sold along side it. The pricing of the facelifted Captiva with the 2.2-litre diesel engine is a blunder at Rs. 24.59 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi), which makes it the costliest SUV in the segment. The new Captiva is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine which is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Power goes to all the wheels via the AWD system.

2012 Chevrolet Captiva Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Captiva 2.0 MT – Rs. 18,74,062/-
Captiva 2.0 Xtreme – Rs. 19,48,347/-
Captiva 2.2 AT AWD – Rs. 24,59,000/-

The new Chevrolet Captiva 2.2 AT runs on 235/65 R 17 tyres. The new 2.2-litre diesel engine produces 186.5 BHP of power output at 3800 RPM and 424 Nm of peak torque at 2000 RPM torque. Featuring 5 + 2 Flexi all leather Seating arrangement, the new Captiva features a jet-black interior. Other features include an electric parking brake, electronic climate control system, cruise control, third-row heating, rain-sensing wipers, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, remote-operated tailgate glass, 6 Airbags and a sunroof.
