Garware Motors Plans 2000 Bike Sales

Garware Motors is looking to sell close to 2000 units of Hyosung’s superbikes in 2011. The Pune based company will start accepting bookings for the GT650R and ST7 this March. The GT650R is priced at around Rs. 5.5 lakhs, whereas the ST7 is priced around Rs. 6 lakhs. With an investment of Rs. 20 crore, the company has setup an assembly plant near Pune to put together 10 CKD kits from Korea. We feel Garware is being highly over optimistic as Kawasaki (a very known brand compared to Hyosung) was able to sell only 1000 Ninja 250R’s in a year. Add to that the Ninja costed significantly less makes us wonder on what grounds do Garware project their sales!
