Ford India Scouts For 2nd Plant

The Figo’s success has made Ford India feel the need for another plant in India. Thus the company has approached the Gujarat Government for land, as it aims to launch eight new models in the country by 2015. Ford currently has its factory near Chennai that has a peak capacity of around 2 lakh units. However labour unrest has been a major issue in Chennai and thus Ford can ensure a smooth operation in the country by having multiple sites for manufacturing.
