Last week we reported about the sighting of the 2014 Fiat Punto without any sort of camouflage. While the outgoing Punto didn’t really set the sales charts on fire, the new Punto brings along with it a very high number of expectations from buyers as well as its manufacturing company. While the 2014 Punto isn’t really an all new model, Fiat has made some very significant changes to the exteriors as well as interiors of the premium hatchback to make it more appealing to customers.

The 2014 Fiat Punto has been given the name plate Punto Evo and we have learnt that the model has already started arriving at dealerships. These vehicles are demo cars to be used for test drives as well as for display purposes inside showrooms. The Fiat Punto Evo will be launched in July itself and we had reported about this fact earlier too. The Punto Evo comes with significantly redesigned exteriors that add a classy touch to the vehicle. Chrome has been splashed around in abundance though. The interiors of the new Punto are exactly similar to the 2014 Linea which is a good thing since the older interiors looked boring now.

The Hyundai Grand i10 was the first hatchback in its segment to come with rear AC vents and the Fiat Punto Evo will also be getting rear vents. No changes have been made mechanically and it will be powered by 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines and the famed 1.3-litre Multijet oil burner. The Fiat Punto Evo will compete with the Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20. Fiat separated from Tata Motors (at the dealership level) some time back and the Italian automaker is now in the process of expanding their sales and after sales network in India.
