Dupont Releases Color Popularity Report

DuPont has released its annual Automotive Color Popularity Report and the results are not surprising. White has been gaining alot of popularity in the country with almost all cars being available in that shade. Silver has always been a dominant colour and was the most popular colour for 7 years in a row till 2007. Very few cars are available in Yellow/Gold and hence it commands a very poor market share.

Top 10 global vehicle colours in 2010 : –

1. Silver – 26%
2. Black/Black Effect – 24%
3. White/White Pearl and Gray – 16% each (tie)
4. Red – 6%
5. Blue – 5%
6. Brown/Beige – 3%
7. Green – 2%
8. Yellow/Gold – 1%

Others – <1%.
