Bajaj Auto is developing a new factory in Lerme, state of Mexico. The company has recently signed an agreement with Surman Group and now they are the official distributor for Bajaj products.

The construction of this factory has started already and they will install the equipment soon. The total production cost of the factory hasn’t been determined yet as it’s a completely new facility and the tools are yet to be installed. However, the products from this factory is limited only for the Mexican market.

Surman Group has sold over 1500 Bajaj motorcycles from August until today. The company is expecting to sell up to 36,000 units with the localised facility. At present, there are 55 Bajaj distributors in the country with 77 selling points and this year they are expecting to reach 120 selling points.

Bajaj believes that the motorcycle market in Mexico will expand further, as their sales have increased by 30 percent in the last ten years. In India, the company has sold around 90,000 units of both the Bajaj CT 100 and Pulsar series in the month of September.
