Honda Opens Second Two-Wheeler Plant

Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India has opened its second plant in the country. The company is famous for its high waiting period on all its bikes including the Activa and Twister. This second plant which has been setup in Tapukara, Rajasthan, will help the company in meeting the customer demands without much delay. Spread over 2.4 lakh sq. mts, the plant can produce 6 lakh units. The capacity is set to double to 12 lakh units by 2012. The Japanese automaker also plans to setup a third manufacturing plant at Narsapuram in Karnataka. This will be spread over 3.5 lakh sq. mts and will commence n 2013. It will produce 12 lakh units per annum and will help Honda reach a production capacity of 40 lakh units in 2013.
