Tata Motors has launched the Nano in Sri Lanka. But the car is not even close to being as cheap as what it is in India. The company has priced the Nano at a startling price of Rs. 3.8 lakhs for the base variant. The top variant is priced at Rs. 4.5 lakhs but we won’t blame Tata for this, as the pricing has all to do with the duty structure of the island nation. The wold’s cheapest car is being sold through the company’s 50 year old distributor Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO). Tata Motors is heavily betting on the Nano for its international operations.
