Hyundai To Drop Select Variants From 2022 i20 Line-up
The 2022 Hyundai i20 will get new variants in the place of discontinued ones
Hyundai is getting ready to change certain variants of the 2022 i20 ahead of the Tata Altroz DCT’s launch, while some grades will also get a revised list of equipment.
The Korean automaker will discontinue the Asta 1.2-litre petrol CVT and 1.0-litre turbo DCT and instead will offer the Asta trim in only 2 forms – 1.2-litre petrol MT and 1.0-litre turbo iMT.
On the other hand, Hyundai will introduce the Asta (O) 1.2-litre petrol CVT and Sportz 1.0-litre turbo DCT variants for the 2022 model year i20.
That is not all. The Sportz variant will from now on come with automatic climate control and cruise control as standard. All Asta grades will get a sunroof, in addition to the existing features, while the Asta(O) trim will get additional voice commands for the BlueLink system.
However, the Asta models, while having gained a sunroof, will feature a smaller 8.0-inch touchscreen in the place of the 10.25-inch screen and will also not come with connected car features.
The 2022 Hyundai i20 will not be subjected to any mechanical changes. These above-mentioned revisions are being lined up in order for the premium hatchback to hold a candle to its rivals which include the refreshed 2022 Maruti Baleno and Tata Altroz.
