The identity of the Royal Enfield Scram that was spotted was not disguised

The Royal Enfield Scram has been spotted recently in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, without camouflage and it looks to be inching closer to becoming production-ready with each passing month.

Based on the Himalayan adventure motorcycle, the Scram, as its name suggests, is a more road-going model with a regular-sized front wheel.

The development mule still retains the Himalayan’s core as is, meaning the 411cc motor (24.3 BHP and 32 Nm), 5-speed gearbox and frame stay the same. Similarly, the fuel tank and seats look to be unchanged as well.

However, there are differences between the 2 models too. The recently spotted Royal Enfield Scram has a new front mudguard, fuel tank extensions and side panels, it also has a different rear fender and grab rail.

That is not all either. The Scram has a lower steering rake angle when compared with the Himalayan and the suspension travel has been reduced noticeably too.

What’s more, instead of using the brand’s sole ADV’s instrument gauges, the Scram has only 2 clocks, which are likely borrowed from the Meteor 350 and the smaller dial will be for the Tripper navigation assist feature.

The motorcycle, which should cost less than the Himalayan, is among several new models Enfield has lined up for market introduction in 2022 and will rival the soon-to-be launched Yezdi scrambler.
