The car does not look any different to the Maruti Ciaz

The spied Toyota Belta models were left-hand drive units

Several units of the left-hand drive Toyota Belta, produced for export, have been spied at a port recently.

The C-segment sedan, which is a rebadged Maruti Ciaz, does not sport any cosmetic changes on the exterior.

It even comes with the same wheels and colourways that Maruti offers on the Ciaz, by the looks of things. Only the manufacturer’s emblem and model badging are different to the Ciaz.

It would join the Glanza and Urban Cruiser in Toyota’s Maruti-sourced lineup

It should be a similar case when it comes to the insides of the Belta. But, the quality if the images do make it unfeasible to say for sure. Although one can expect new upholstery to be on offer at least.

Expected to be launched soon in the market the Toyota Belta spied recently will be powered by the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid assistance.

The power unit is good for 103 BHP and 138 Nm of torque and will be teamed to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Rear Profile
It should be priced similar to the Maruti CIaz

Production of the India-spec Belta has also commenced and with the Yaris discontinued by the Japanese brand, it would become its most affordable sedan offering here.
